Happy Birthday Judy!

My father, sister, and I decided to surprise my mother with an interactive birthday cooking class at Don Coqui's in New Rochelle with a bunch of her friends. Basically you cook and then you eat what you cook. We did have a professional chef helping us so we didn't make too many mistakes.

My mom was very surprised to see everyone there.

Enjoying some wine before the cooking begins.

Aprons on and ready to cook.

This group was in charge of slicing the potatoes.

These guys took charge of slicing the onions for the onion soup.

Here's Alli supervising all her sous chefs.

Ben trimmed up the beef tenderloin just right.

Of course my mother a few others took charge of the lobster.

The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection. It just melted in your mouth.

Jay and I were in charge of making choclate grand mariner souffle and crepes for dessert. We added some entertainment by playing around in the flour.

Alli then took charge of the desserts.

After two hours of cooking, we all sat down for a delicious meal.

Yankees Ticker Tape Parade 2009

Yes, I played hooky on Friday to go to the Yankee parade in NYC. How could I not be there to celebrate the Yankees 27th World Series Championship? It was so much fun and very memorable.

Jay must really love me since he's a Mets fan and still came with me!

We got to our spot on the Canyon of Heros (aka Broadway) at 9am and this is what the streets looked like. The parade didn't start until 11am so we had two hours to enjoy the festivities. Fans chanted "Lets Go Yankees" as they threw toilet paper from one side of the street to the other. It felt like being in Times Square on New Years Eve.

Not many people were working in lower Manhatten that day, as the offices that lined Broadway threw shredded paper and confetti down on the crowds.

Joe Girardi - Manager of New York Yankees

Hideki Matsui (aka Godzilla) - MVP of the 2009 World Series!

A-Rod finally got his first World Series ring. Jay-Z appears to be an honorary Yankee player.

The two most excited players had to be CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira. As their float passed us, they were smiling ear to ear and pumping their fists in the air.

Derek Jeter, the captain - my other boyfriend.

Last but not least, the best closer in the world, Mariano Rivera (aka The Sandman).

The streets of New York were completely covered with paper when the parade was over.

Halloween 2009

Jay and I haven't dressed up for Halloween in awhile so we went all out this year. Our friends Fran and Jason threw a big party so we had to think of some good costumes.

The Queen Bee and her Worker Bee

Sandy and Danny from Grease

Velma and Sandy smile for the camera.

One of our favorite costumes on the left - a one night stand.

Captain Hook and Tinkerbell smooching.

Jay and I won the prize for best couple costumes. Lauren won for best individual costume.

We carved pumpkins for Halloween

Here's my scary alien.

Here's Jay's haunted tree.
