California Dreamin'

After dealing with a month of rain in NY, we decided to take a vacation to sunny San Diego. Our friends Amber and Logan were getting married out there and we thought it was the perfect excuse for a vacation. Plus, it was Jay's birthday and what better way to celebrate than in California.

For Jay's birthday I surprised him with a half day bike and kayak tour of the entire city. Our starting point was Mt. Soledad in La Jolla which gave us a 360 degree view of San Diego and the Pacific Ocean.

PB (aka Pacific Beach) is a favorite for college students and young adults living the California dream. We biked along the 3-mile boardwalk and took in the sun and scenery.

La Jolla Cove is known for its sea caves. We kayaked to the sea caves and even paddled into a few of them - very cool!

Children's Pool - No harbor seals this time of year!

Coronado Beach - Rated one of the top ten beaches in the United States.

Mission Bay

One of the highlights of our trip was the BBQ the day after the wedding. It was held in an amazing villa on the side of a cliff in La Jolla that the bride's parents rented out for the week. Hands down it was the best BBQ we've ever been to in our lives.
