Trip to Albany

This holiday season we took a trip to Albany to visit Jay's sister Michelle and her husband Kyle. The outside of their house looked very familiar, but we couldn't quite place it:

Actually, this was the original set from Seasame Street, which was on display at the New York State Museum (one of our first stops).

Another display at the museum detailed the events of 9/11. This was an actual firetruck found at ground zero.

THIS is the true outside of Michelle and Kyle's new place. Wow, it's amazing what you can get for your dollar upstate. (Ok,ok, this is actually the New York State Capitol. Just a few of the Albany sites we were privileged to view.)

Dinner at the local favorite included Margaritas and their speciality, uniquely flavored chicken wings. I stuck with the Jack Daniels sauce and was a little tipsy after about half a dozen. The Margaritas were good, but Michelle's was so strong she couldn't even drink it. What we didn't tell her is that we secretly ordered her a virgin Margarita... ;)

After dinner we went to check out the seasonal light show in the park, a winter display of changing themes. This year's theme was fairy tales. See how many you can guess. We'll start you off easy:

We had a lot of fun guessing the various sets! The rest of the night was spent out of the cold enjoying some good wine and great company. Thanks guys!

  • Nobody commented on our lovely house?! The blood, the sweat, the tears that went into its construction...

It was great to have you up and I hope we get to do it again when the weather is warmer (and there's more to do than walking the underground bowels of Albany)!

And, dude, my margarita had all the shots of tequila that were missing from the three of yours. :)
