Ithaca is Gorges!

Jay and I took a trip up to visit Alli at her college town of Ithaca, NY. We indulged ourselves in food, nature, and all that the finger lakes have to offer. Some of our favorites were: touring the brewery; eating delicious sandwiches at the Ithaca Bakery; and sampling stinky cheese at the farmer's market. What makes Ithaca "gorges"?...Its natural beauty and thundering waterfalls.

We spent the day at Buttermilk Falls State Park hiking the various trails around the falls.

Alli and her roommate Liza pose for a photo op.

The main fall pictured here is 165 feet high, tumbling in a wide, frothy cascade.

With lots of steps, we had to take a few breaks to rest.

The highlight of the hike was when Jay and Alli decided to cross the rushing stream of water...not the best idea. Alli wiped out within a few seconds, it was very slippery.
